new comic hosting site and webcomic

Being one that does not like to code- I have tried to find something very user friendly. A fellow comic book artist took that to heart. He and a buddy created new software and a host site for webcomics- I love it- better than anything I've screwed around with so if your interested head over to check it out- it is called

my comic is a return to the story that I started 10  years ago and never finished. Some developments in the last year have caused me to revisit the brokenmoon and return to my roots.

you can see the comic here- though i will post it here as well:)

Atland #235 - That's My Boy

Enter the Potatomen! NOW we've got the makings of a fight on our hands!

Usually I get an episode done in 2-3 sittings from start to finish. This one had to have been 6 or 8. Deadlines with my projects from Marvel and Dark Horse got a little hairy the week I drew this and it took days to finally wrap it up.

I also didn't have the last line until I was actually lettering it. I think it changed about 4 times. Sometimes I do that when I write. I'll have all the dialogue except the big impact line at the end and I'll finally decide when I'm finishing the episode.

Next week, we rejoin Inky as he gets close to rejoining his friends. But there's one last, deadly surprise waiting for him.

New Webcomic

Major Tom is a new webcomic which I've begun on the Underground Pop Productions website. It's one man's surreal journey through a cosmic landscape which, I hope, will surprise and stimulate.

I've gone back to the Moebius/ Bode/Heavy Metal tree which spawned me so many years ago...and loving every minute of it.

Major Tom will update in multi-page chapters. The first, 10 page chapter is available now at the Underground Pop Productions website. Oh yeah. This comic may, (most definitely) contain mature content.

Play Nice.

Atland #234 - So Be It

I first imagined the Simians as a race of honorable warriors. Kind of a mix between Klingons and samurai. They're all about the bloodsport, but they've got a strict code of honor. Even though it is ridiculous that only 2 warriors prevent the whole dwarven army from entering the Nameless One's lair, Bron is flexing his authority here. I imagine the only reason why the dwarves put up with Bron is that he really gets fantastic results. He's the strategic mind behind most of their victories against the Northlands lately.

And of course...we reintroduce Tad. And you know what that means: Potatomen!

Next week, Tad explains himself and the odds get a little more even...

And if you missed it, Robertson Games has created a player race out of Simians for D&D! ... ace-for-4e

Fawn 2009

While I'm at it, here's the first image of Fawn Rainchild I've created in 2009. I miss drawing this character, this comic. That's a good sign because it's the second or third time this year I've had the desire to go Pan-Gea...

Stoic Witch

Another sketch in the Elfbone series, which may or may not become something more than a series of sketches.

Life is good, folks. The new baby is doing fantastic and her sleeping habits are improving rapidly. My sciatic flare ups are on the rise, however, and that makes things a bit harder as I'm in pain quite often. But such is my lot in life and that's okey dokey. I can still work, have a family, and draw pictures. So eff 'em. I'm here!

Space Oddity

I haven't been posting much of anything lately due to the fact I'm battling some "creative demons" and some days are better than others. Here's a shot from a possible new webcomic I've been working on. I'll spare the details because I'm still not sure what I'm doing with it or, if it's anything at all. it's a day to day process.

Atland #233 - Terms?

Meanwhile, back outside...

Man, I was bummed about having to go back to drawing snow after those red cave interiors. :( Oh well. Lots of snow yet to go. I'd better get used to it.

The original pencils for panel 4 had the dwarf herald standing with the Dwarf Pope on top of the HornHead beast. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized, the DP wouldn't allow a grunt in his special little carriage. So I erased it and drew the dwarf herald atop a tree. I allowed me to show Bron as well.

Next week, three legendary warriors meet.

In other news, Atland Season 2 will definitely be presented in portrait format which will permit me to display a bigger, more easily read, image. it will also allow me to publish the print collections right side up and without the black gutter on each page. I'm excited about the change.

Man and Nature?

My rugs in the "way too small and expensive" bunker are being replaced and I've taken the opportunity to do a little spring cleaning. I've unearthed a virtual time capsule of crap and dust but, I did discover a few old gems. I did this piece about 7 years ago. I can't quite remember the "why or what for" but, I liked it enough to share. I have a colored version trapped on an old floppy somewhere but, that'll probably never see the light of day. Damn floppies.

Atland #232 - The Very World

I know what you're thinking...waaaaay back at the beginning I showed a flashback where The Nameless One was shown as some sort of tentacle beast.

Now, I could bullsh*t you with my usual response of, "A wizard did it." but I broke continuity. I'll admit it fully.

But you know, the more I thought about it...the more BORING a tentacle monster is. EVERYBODY uses tentacles...the Lovecraft fans, the Japanese animated porn people...I wanted something more creative. So I broke continuity. I came up with a humungous creature made up of billions of writhing corpses...the souls of those who've tried to slay the Nameless One and lost.

At least now you're surprised that it's not some Chthulu-esque tentacle thing. And isn't this more fun?

Next week, the dwarves finally arrive and our guys prepare themselves for battle...

Check out my new domain!

I've joined The Rampage Network, where I finally have a dot com! I'll be posting my new pages there from now on. Just follow the link!

Adam Prosser, my long-time co-writer on Pewfell and creator of "Amazon Space Rangers" and the popular strip "Freak-U" has just launched a new series written and drawn by himself. So far it looks like "Lemuria" marks a new high water mark for his art -- great job dude - keep it up!:

Project X

Here's page number one from another project that I'm trying to cultivate. Right now I'm in the "throw it against the wall and see what sticks" mode of creating. I have a ton of stories, plots, and incoherent scribbles lying around and this is my method of cleaning house. Sometimes old doodles suddenly come alive and begin to mate with the other half-eaten scraps of ideas. In the end, I could have my very own Frankenstein Monster!

I'm just waiting on the lightning, baby.
