We'll have a good 'ol time!

And don't forget! Every Thursday between now and the kickoff of Season 2, I will be posting concept artwork of new characters, places and more! So I'll see you back here next week!

And now, a treat. I recorded a 3-part video journal of how I made episode 268, from start to finish. I apologize for the video & audio quality of the sequences shot at my drawing board. Stick with it, everything improves when I move over to the computer.

Enjoy guys! See you tomorrow at the video chat and next week for comcept art from Season 2!

Firing up the Zyn Dweomer Machine

Ok, so I've been working on Zyn Dweomer as a full size comic book. Naturally, I don't have enough time or focus to simply knock out page after page so it's slow going. But I do have quite a bit of work finished. So I decided to start posting segments of each page in weekly installments to try and get the webcomic back on some kind of regular schedule.

For now there are new episodes scheduled well into April. If you go to Zyn Dweomer you'll find a new one each Monday.

Rock. On.

I hope this specter of death finds everyone happy, healthy, and slightly evil!

My "resolution" for 2010 was to make comics. And goddammit, that's what I'm doing.

But more on that later...

Atland #267 - Banished!

You knew I wasn't going to just let Barry walk into the castle and end up King, right? Right. His brother's been waiting a VERY long time to get revenge. If you had to wipe between HER folds, you'd be mad too.

This is probably in my top 5 favorite episodes, simply because I'm really, REALLY happy with the artwork. Pretty rare for me.

Next week is it, guys. Final episode of Season 1.

And I'll have an extra special VIDEO treat for you...

AND I will be doing the live video chat that Thursday @ 7pm ET:

See you then!

new pages and updates

First off thanks for the supporting words. Some of you might know that there is a lot going on in my life and sometimes i feel like ravna. (not the flowing skirt bit, though it might be nice) but trudging through the mud, while the world laughs. I am getting through it, My wife is a huge support and I sure appreciate that the test we have in life are to make us stronger.

Now with that said- on to this weeks update. I hope you enjoy and for some reason they are backwards but that is ok- if you want to read in the right context - go here....

Thanks once again for the smiles. Also Issue 3 should be back from the printer this week- I cannot wait. Also I am on page 9 for issue 4 and boy is it starting to flow...

Dark Horse feature!

I'm featured in the back of all Dark Horse comics this month! Groovy!

Old Friends

It seems like it's been a long while since I've drawn these guys. I'm not sure why I suddenly felt the urge. Maybe I'm just feeling all nostalgic in my, "I can't freakin' sleep" phase this week.

Anyway...I think that they're happy to make an appearance here at Wizard Central for old time's sake.

Play Nice.

Atland #266 - Almost Home

"The Brave Minotaur" -- I've been waiting for months to reveal that bit. How better to honor their fallen friend than with a cozy drinking establishment?

This episode is indeed a plot mover, but I also consider this episode the last REAL episode of Season 1. The final 2 episodes of the season are an Epilogue to set up the next season.

Speaking of week, Barry and Inky arrive in Xerexos to reclaim the throne!

And in other momentous I penciled and inked the final episode of Season 1. It's taken me 4 years, but I made it. Tomorrow I color and letter it...and then my full attention turns to Season 2!

new update and issue 3 goes to press

New page update you can read it here

And issue 3 goes to press on friday which means it will go on sale late next week.

Also I am all into issue 4 and man is it getting wild.

Well, 2010 has been kicking my 39-year-old ass with colds and sinus infections and what-not. But I'm still here and I'm still drawing stuff despite what the world says or does. Nanny nanny boo boo.

Lately I've been in a black and white mood. Comics on my workspace include some new Zyn Dweomer stuff as well as the Elfbone project I've hinted at frequently.

I don't like to predict my own behavior, but I think this year might bring out more short stories from me. At least that's the direction I'm heading. Comics I can conceive and execute within the time span of my all-too-fragile Passion Window (©).

Have a fun year!

Seth Fisher

It's not exactly the anniversary of his death, (January 30, 2006) but, I wanted to make sure I posted something around this time, which I've attempted to do for the past 3 years.

Seth's career in comics and the illustration world was much too brief for me. Fortunately, he's left us quite a bit of eye candy to ponder and be inspired by. For the past few years, his mom Vicky has been keeping his blog alive on his personal site and has done an amazing job with as much dedication as anyone could ever ask for. Her latest post states that she may be moving on to focus more on her own art. I encourage everyone to take a stroll over and say hello, or perhaps even thanks. :)

Once again...thanks, Seth.

Play Nice!

Atland #265 - Temple of Ria, Pt. 2

I drew that last panel of Lily before I drew anything else on the page. I wanted to hit that panel fresh, with all my mojo for our last look at Lily in this season.

Questions have already come up about Lily's future in Season 2. Rest assured, I'm sure she'll play some role. But her purpose in life now is to rebuild her order of priestesses and spread the love of her Goddess. I'm pretty sure her life of adventuring is over. (But you never know...)

Next week, the boys make their way to Barry's homeland of Xerexos and discuss their future...

Just THREE episodes left of Season 1!

Speaking of which--don't forget that I'll be doing a live video chat the night of the final episode. Jan. 28th, 7pm ET. Right here:

I'll also be revealing some things about Season 2, and I think I'll have a surprise for you...
