I found some rare and free time recently to do some self indulgent doodling. I can see where I've been influenced a bit by the new artistic paths that have opened for me recently. I think that's cool. I'd hate to think that I've gotten too old to see my work change.
Apologies again, for not being around much these days here on the Wizard's board.

Atland Season 2 Preview: New Map of the Northlands
A new Map featuring ALL of the Northlands (even the part that was not shown on the previous map) is now live!
Here's an enlarged view:
http://www.realmofatland.com/map2.html
AND you can buy a mini-poster of the new map here:
http://www.realmofatland.com/buymap.shtml
Much of Season 2 will focus on the Northlands, Barry's home turf. And specifically the town of Oakholme. (I'm working on a map of that as well.)
Next week, another new character...one of the legendary Seven Swordsmen of Atland!

Well I just finished all the artwork to issue 4 (still have layout and such to do) but I pulled off 40 pages in less than 5 weeks, juggling other jobs, I feel good about that. I also finished the cover which I will be posting later.

The multiple round job interview process
Today's strips feature Pewfell's second job interview in the series so far and his complete lack of moral fortitude. The final panel pretty much sums up how I feel when attending formal occasions.

Atland Season 2 Preview: Clarke the Wooden Man
Take parts of a water wheel, a coffin, a wine barrel, and the undying love of a cursed sorceress...and you have:
90 pages crap....
well I am at the 90 page mark - which i never thought i would be at again. I feel really good about the comic direction and i am pretty much at peace with the art style.
Now on to finish issue 4. Which I have 5 pages left to draw and ink and then the cover which I will be showing in about 2 weeks.
Well thanks for the support

Book 19 - Page 1
The story so far:
Pewfell, having risen from lowly wizard in the city sewer patrol to top henchman of Spirekassle City's late zombie-mad dictator Baron Samedi, now languishes in the palace Dungeons. His captors, the city's new rulers, Chaos Lords Zoltakk and Phil, have just returned from an horrific evening at the theater, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Savage Sword of Una
Here's some fooling around I did with that paper background and the new brush James sent me. I'm actually only using the pencil brush for textures, but I used some watercolor brushes for the wash effect. I'm trying to emulate 70s horror comics a bit.

Here is the last of the color strips for now.
Starting next Monday these will be in black and white, with more of a pencil sketch look. Here's a preview:
If all goes as planned you'll be seeing the print comics in the near future and web updates more frequently.
Trying to make 2010 my most productive year ever! Wish me luck.

Bamdoodle Comics #2
Another nameless comic. I'm toying with the name "Black Wing", which is one I've been carrying with me for 8+ years. Who knows...

Still Breathing
So much good stuff popping up here on the Ye' Ole' Wizard's board I can hardly stand it! Me? I've been a busy little camper but not so much in the comics world. I recently took on a job in the gaming industry with a company called E-Line Media doing conceptual art and illustration. This is taking up most of my time and likely most of 2010. I'm having a lot of fun producing some very interesting eye candy. The current flash-based game I'm working on is called Gamestar Mechanic and hopefully will be available online in March or April. My comic making life has been put on hold but, the work I'm now doing is testing my abilities and imagination in a way that when it comes time to get back into the "comic thing" I'll be refueled, reloaded and ready to start taking names! :)

Bamdoodle Comics
Started messing with new PS brushes, doing these quick little strips about a trio of brothers. I don't have a title for the strip yet. That's weird for me. I usually have a title first, then a strip.
I'll be posting them here.

The bean page 85
New update and more fun-
Page 85, though if you want the truth I just finished the midway point of book 4 so I am on really on page 132.
The story is flowing pretty smooth and I have hit a few milestones which I am excited about. The main one is the fact I got farther than 2 issues which is a first, though i have no desire to jinx this now.
Things are moving back normal. Which I am thankful for, thanks guys for being here.
You can read the whole story here so far at http://www.needcomics.com/Tales_of_the_Broken_Moon/

Zyn Dweomer #52
As I said in a previous post, I'm drawing the comic in the American standard format because my vision is for these to be in print. So I'm breaking them up into intuitive strips for the web. I know that isn't ideal for a webcomic, but it is ideal for this artist!
Right now, I'm doing Monday updates. Let's see how many Mondays I can do in a row...
