Name That Barbarian!
Digging through piles of my junk I found numerous sketches that seemed to ask me - nay, BEG me - to finish them. This one was a doodle on a sheet of scrap paper. I think he looks kinda...familiar...was he on Friends?

Warrior Princess
I was going to work this one up a little more before posting, but the way things are going lately I'll probably not get to it for ages, so here it is, rough and ready. I was toying around with a new look for Tina the Warrior Princess that went back a bit to her viking roots. Exceedingly round buttocks inspired by Will Elder's art on "Little Annie Fanny"

Sketch Party
More pentab explosions.
I'm on a mission. Like some kind of delusional archeologist I'm digging through old sketchbooks, piles of scrap doodlings, and digital piles of noodlings trying to piece together the story of my vision. It's weird. I'm not looking for new ideas like normal, I'm simply trying to understand what I've been oozing for the past decade. And I have a plan to put my discoveries to good use for the betterment of humanity.
Yeah, that means making comics.
Break time's over. Gotta get my pick out and chip away at yellowing piles of paper. There's a mysterious story in here, hidden in layers of maze like winding paths and other such cool analogies.

Sketch Trio
Took a couple of tiny little doodles from post it notes and cranked out these sketches tonight.
There is an elusive look and feel I'm trying to uncover. It brims up from my youth, from memory-enhanced images lining the walls of my mind...old comics, old games, fleeting glimpses of book covers while browsing flea market dustbins...
Sometimes I feel like I'm getting closer, other times I feel like its slipping away.
But its always fun.

Atland #211 - Tad
If you've been a regular on the official Atland forum, you might have seen my original concepts of a slightly older Tad. As you can see, I kept some ideas (like the hammer) and went a little more faithful to the original design and mixed it with his dad's original costume. I think it works best this way. And it was fun to draw him again.
Not to mention how nice it was to get to draw some trees for these past 2 episodes. This will probably be the last time you see trees until the very last episode of "Season 1". From here on out it's desert...and snow...
Next week is Thanksgiving and as usual, I'm cooking, so there will be no new strip. But in 2 weeks: Bruce at the mercy of Sheila!

Skragin Dragon
Sketched on a note pad at work, messed with digitally. I have an idea for where it's going, but not there yet.

Atland #210 - An Army Of Our Own
As promised, I tried to deliver better art after having to draw last week's episode in a garage while my car was being fixed.
So, can you guess where Bruce is going without flipping back to episode 51?
I had a blast revisiting that particular scene. At first I was going to draw it from a different angle but themore I thought about it, the more I thought it would be nice to draw that house the same way about two (?) years after I'd drawn it originally. I kept that episode taped to my board during pencilling and decided to draw it the way I would draw it NOW. So you'll see some differences, probably mostly in coloring.
Next week...the return of the potatomen.
And hey, it's my 33rd birthday this Saturday! Ale on me.

A whole mess of old Pewfell...
Well I'm nearly finished with my revisions to volume 1, so I've updated my update schedule for this old Pewfell stuff to seven days a week, but I haven't been keeping up with posting it here, so now you get it all at once. My wheels are gearing up to get started on some new stuff, especially since all of you all have been posting such great sketchings and things here lately -- I've got some catching up to do!

Atland #209 - The Séance, Pt. 2
I got a TON of e-mail from pissed-off people thinking I killed off the Countess. No one seemed to notice she was WEARING the ring of longevity that Lily bartered with. She WOULD have been dead otherwise.
I'll be the first to admit, this isn't the best artwork I've ever produced. The universe conspired against me and it's a miracle that I even got it done. I had all kinds of car trouble that week and had to go sit in the dealership for hours...not once, but TWICE to get it fixed. I had no choice but to bring my drawing gear with me to the dealership and draw and ink it there. Ugh. Not my ideal location for creativity. Not to mention people peeking over my shoulder and giving me odd looks.
I COULD have just given up and not had an episode for you this week. But I would have let myself down.
Anyway, water under the bridge as they say. I promise next week the artwork will be better when Bruce comes up with a plan to deal with the threat waiting to ambush our heroes in Nilfang...and we get to revisit a place you guys haven't seen in years...

Even More Dust-Bunnies!
Here's one more discovery from the dust-filled box which contains my various files on CD. It's becoming painfully obvious that I have no idea what I have on my hands. Maybe someday I'll hire an archivist. Is there such a thing? Anyway, this is more `Tween refuse. This looks like it may have been a cover idea or something. I'm troubled by how strange Pheebus, the Elf looks. I may have been drinking.
More Dust-Bunnies!
Back...sometime in 2005, I had toyed with the idea of bringing `Tween back but this time, in a daily strip format. I had forgotten all about this until I stumbled upon these files today. I figured that since Elf `n Troll is taking a dirt nap and I don’t have much going on at the moment, I’d share these. I actually have quite a bit going on at the moment but, what the hell else am I going to do with these dust-bunnies? Enjoy.
Play Nice.
