It's interesting. I had these old blue textured, stiff cardboard cards in my desk for YEARS. My wife asked me to throw them away as long ago as 1995 but I stubbornly proclaimed that some day they would be used. So I think it was actually around 2002 or 2003 when I started doing the Witch Deck series for Pan-Gea/Hof. I just kept them all very rough and wild with little or no sketching. I did not want them to be polished at all.
The idea was that each card would represent some major power of the mythos. Black Wing, Hunter Raven, Sun, Moon, Nexus, Worm Witch...etc.
And some witches and sorcerers would carry a deck of them and each deck would be unique and tailored to that specific mage. They'd be used for casting spells and divining and all sorts of nutty wizardly goodness.
I like this. I love the idea of cards. This is something I need to explore someday.
